Lights at the Lake Holiday Bash
Saturday, December 9 | 4:00 pm
The countdown to the most festive event on the lake is on!
Children's Book Readings
Gather around the tree at 4:30pm and 5:15pm to hear Tracie Morris Schaefer read her National Gold Medal book The Greenest Tree, "a heartwarming holiday story about a little tree that journeys from the woods to become a beloved family Christmas tree." Schaefer will also be available for book signings before and after each reading.
St. Rita School Sensational Singing Panthers
If you're looking for holiday spirit, we've got it for you! Come see the St. Rita School Sensational Singing Panthers perform at 4:00pm.
Shades of Praise Interracial Gospel Choir
Shades of Praise will perform at 4:45pm, following the St. Rita School Sensational Singing Panthers. Shades of Praise performs contemporary gospel music in the African-American style; introduces gospel to wider audiences across racial and denominational boundaries; and forges relationships that dispel stereotypes and create racial harmony.
West End Christmas Boat Parade
Lake Pontchartrain's annual parade features beautifully illuminated yachts with Santa and his elves leading the way! Boats assemble across from the New Canal Lighthouse and glide up and down the New Basin Canal, along Breakwater Drive, and through the harbor.
The best spot to view the parade is from the New Canal Lighthouse! This year's parade will begin at approximately 5:30pm.
Benny Grunch and the Bunch
Christmas...New Orleans style. Come see the King of Christmas live on the lake! Benny Grunch and the Bunch will close out the Bash following the West End Christmas Boat Parade at 6:30pm. You've never seen the 12 Yats of Christmas like this before.
