West End Christmas Boat Parade

Lake Pontchartrain's annual parade featured beautifully illuminated yachts with Santa and his elves leading the way! Boats assembled across from the New Canal Lighthouse and glided up and down the New Basin Canal, along Breakwater Drive, and through the harbor.

As always, the best spot to view the parade is from the New Canal Lighthouse! This year's parade began at 6:00pm.

Benny Grunch and the Bunch

Christmas...New Orleans style. The King of Christmas rocked out live on the lake! Benny Grunch and the Bunch closed out the Bash following the West End Christmas Boat Parade.

Children's Book Readings

Tiny tots gathered around the tree at 4:30pm and 5:35pm to hear Tracie Morris Schaefer read her National Gold Medal book The Greenest Tree, "a heartwarming holiday story about a little tree that journeys from the woods to become a beloved family Christmas tree." Schaefer was also available for book signings, crafts, and activities before and after each reading.

St. Rita School Sensational Singing Panthers

What a dose of true holiday spirit! The St. Rita School Sensational Singing Panthers performed at 4:00pm. There is no better way to kick off Lights at the Lake!

Shades of Praise Interracial Gospel Choir

Shades of Praise performed at 4:45pm, following the St. Rita School Sensational Singing Panthers. Shades of Praise performs contemporary gospel music in the African-American style; introduces gospel to wider audiences across racial and denominational boundaries; and forges relationships that dispel stereotypes and create racial harmony.

Pictures with Santa

Ho Ho Ho!

Santa Claus visited the New Canal Lighthouse at Lights at the Lake to take pictures in his magical photo booth! Children and adults alike took three photos and watched them print right before their eyes.

Each photo session was a $5.00 donation (cash or credit). One session includes three photos on one strip. Each session can fit up to six adults. Multiple print copies issued; digital copies also available.

Thank you to Shaun and David at Photobomb Nola!
