John C. Burrus School of Fish

School of Fish is a half-day clinic for children ages 8 through 15.  Held in June at LPBF's New Canal Lighthouse and the adjacent New Orleans lakefront seawall, children are taught how to tie basic knots, tackle, fish ID, casting, and fishing with rods and reels by LPBF educators and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries volunteers. We provide the fishing poles, life jackets, and lunch.  Students receive a Certificate of Participation and LPBF's School of Fish t-shirt.
